Iyengar Intensives - These 5-14 day intensives are intended to help the yoga student develop a daily practice.  The intensive begins with developing strength and balance in the standing poses, gentle chest opening in beginning backbends and leading up to beginning inversions, including shoulder balance, head stand, and full arm balance.  Weekend classses are 2 hours (7:30-9:30am). Registration of full 5-14 classes required.  It is best to attend all classes consecutively as classes develop sequentially. Intensives are held at least once a month.

Level 2 - Iyengar - In this class we will work on the advanced standing poses, regular practice of inversions (headstand, shoulder stand, & full arm balance), and work towards advanced backbends and arm balancings.  This class is not suitable for beginners.  This class is suitable if you have experience in another method of yoga and are comfortable working on inversions.

Led Practice - Heide will lead a sequence without giving instructions.  Students should be familiar with the sanskrit names of the poses and the fundamentals of each pose covered in the level 1 and level 2 classes.  This is a good way to start practicing what we learn in class.  Students should be familiar with the inversions.  Open to all students who have been attending classes for 6 months continuously with Heide.  This class is free.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga - all levels - Vinyasa yoga matches each posture with the breath, creating an energetic, flowing practice. Bear's style of Vinyasa is based on skillful alignment, dynamic movement and lots of heart. These classes are appropriate for all levels, from those new to yoga to advanced practitioners.

Ashtanga Yoga - All classes will be mysore-style, excepting for saturday morning, 10 am led.
MYSORE-STYLE: The traditional way of teaching Ashtanga Yoga as taught by the late Sri K. Patthabi Jois of Mysore, India.  This is an open levels class where each student learns and practices individually as the teacher provides practice advice, physical adjustments, correction of sequencing/vinyasa and modifications as needed.

Each student begins by learning Sun Salutation A, a few basic standing postures and a short finishing sequence.  Postures of the Primary Series are added over a period of several classes to allow for memorization of the sequence and for each posture to become integrated in the body & breath before adding a new posture.

The Primary Series, "Yoga Chikista" (meaning "body therapy") is a grounding sequence intelligently designed to lengthen & strengthen legs and spine and detoxify the inner organs.

Please note:  It is recommended to commit to at least two classes per week for a couple of months.

Led Ashtanga:  Teacher will lead students through the vinyasa count of the Primary Series.  Familiarity with the Primary Series is recommended though not required.  This class is a dynamic flow involving forward bends, twists, backbends and inversions.  Level 2/3.
(Ashtanga classes are by donation - pay what you wish!)

*Please come to class at least 5 minutes before classes begin.  Please come with an empty stomach.  Please bring your own mat (We have some available if you don't have one yet). All other equipment is provided. Wear comfortable, loose clothing and bare feet.
